Because i haven’t updated in 3 weeks, and because i still don’t have much to share, i shall share what i have bought and received recently, so bear with me

Been a crazy CRAZY week settling projects and what nots, but at least we got pass some of them. Have got a huge essay coming up so i guess that spells more work to be done…

On another note, it’re really nice to have a close friend stay just beside you. So you can supper at night and talk crap and share troubles/feelings and watch funny videos and laugh ur heads off in the wee hours of the night. Keeps you sane in times like this

Been reading quite a bit recently. Am rediscovering the joy of losing myself, my thoughts in books. It’s like surrendering yourself and entering another world for the moment. This is perhaps, one of the things i do that almost always makes me lose track of time.

Epitome of Randomness

1. The DVD portfolio ate up so much of my freaking study week time that i think i’m seriously compromising on my other modules. Arrghhh. But must thanks dear wen for helping me out in the dvd production, making a third and final trip to her house to collect the dvds tml !

2. How can i make my eyes bigger, thighs smaller and complexion flawless ? I think all these requires effort and MONEY.

3. I haven’t baked for so long. even my friends tell me so =(

It’s a girly affair

Ok this must have been taken sometime last year. But i was having a good hair and skin day so why not ? Sigh i would love to have slight curls in my hair if they do grow longer. but then again i dunnoe how long it would take.

Spot the similarity. Ok anyway i swear i didn’t wear the same top to the same place (is it the same table?) on purpose. It just happened. But i look more radiant in the earlier photo, in the second one i just look cui. See what stress and lack of sleep does to you. Bad hair, bad skin. boo.

I never knew s’pore has such a beautiful nightview. Guess that goes to show how sucky my camera is.

Anyway, Ash was still the same hilarious and chatty guy who never stops talking. (I’ll never forget how my eyes were aldry half-closed on the ferry back to HK but he just keeps going on and on lols. That’s ash for you.) But it was good to have him back and catch up a little.

The fact is, we have drifted apart.

I am learning not to let somethings bother me so much anymore. Why make yourself upset when you can choose to feel happy about other things/people in your life ? I have a choice and i choose to be happy

Anyway the Job Internship Hunt is on ! Attended the resume writing workshop yesterday and it turned out better than i expected. Time to re-work that dusty resume and market myself ha.

Workwise, the worst is over, at least for this week. 3208 website, check. 4880D presentation, check. 4880D think piece, check. 4880D project proposal, check. Upcoming…endless readings and project meetings. And i need to take photos of sch life for 3208 assignment 2. Haven’t thought about how i should go about doing it though.

But for now, I’m looking forward to my well-deserved break for the weekend

P.S. I am preparing lil vdae gifts for the girls and i know you all will LOVE me for it HAHAHA.

Nobody said it was going to be easy

As a “follow up” to nm2208 (which we stayed at the deck from the record-breaking 12pm-2am for), nm3208 just made us stay from 10am-11pm at the cnm consultation room. BUT WE FINISHED IT. feel so accomplished can. From knowing nuts about css to building a website together.

We had no lunch and dinner. Only biscuits, cookies and chips to last us through the 13hrs. So it was just the 4 of us, 4 laptops and some music. Just so happen that we’re nearing the end and F’s laptop started to play “Nobody said it was going to be easy…” hahaha how apt. Especially thinking back to how many hours we had spent on the website this week, almost 3 whole days i think.

There were both funny and stressful moments. And i’m starting to like our project group B drove so i got a ride back whee ! And liyanna was so sweet as to msg us to check if we got home aldry. Aahhh one down at least, a few more for the other mods to go.

We can definitely make it through killer nm3208 together for the rest of the sem jiayou jiayou jiayou !

真正的快乐

Time for one more post before sch reopen tml.

I’ll start from our thurs night out at Timbre first. Oh yes i’m back and i brought new ppl there. I think they liked the place =)

Here’s the pretty lighting i mentioned previously. I have no idea why this kind of lighting attracts me so. Maybe cos they’re not overly bright and lit up the place just right, giving it a warm and cozy feeling.

Here’s another cocktail making it to the list of ‘undrinkables’. umm, i think i would rank it first over Cosmopolitan, Nothing and Sex on the beach anytime.

You gotta love the night view this place offers. Looks great from any angle, and the occassional breeze feels really good.

But then somebody KO-ed early. Boo. Lousy. Haha kidding lar. Anyway li and hm left earlier due to ‘foreseen’ circumstances so that leaves lix and me. We were planning to stay a lil longer but not as long as we eventually did.

EIC was playing that night, and i think the lead singer was really good. It was a pity i wasn’t familiar with the songs they are playing though. We left after the first set cos lix wanted to check out Chinaone. Hmm is it becoming a routine ? How come Chinaone is always the stop after Timbre ? haha.

So we made our way over. Turns out that it was super empty on a thurs night, so we ditched the idea and went searching for a bite. After walking ard for a bit we decided to go have some Bratwurst. I know Lix must be secretly happy cos we had Erdinger and now Bratwurst. All things german ! haha.

It wasn’t fantastic but we entertained ourselves by watching the trans flirt with angmohs at the next table. Interestingly disgusting. Reminds me of the time when we were at macs after MOS and there was a WHOLE table of them. eww.

We were supposed to head home after that but somebody came up with the idea of staying out late by the singapore river. with drinks no less. So there and then we concluded that i would miss my last train so Cheers was the next stop. We bought Baron’s brew and bottled long island tea. Never seen the latter ard before, so we decided to give it a try.

Conclusion: Baron’s is damm bitter. I don’t think i cld have finished the whole can myself. The LIT is ok, a lil on the fizzy side though. Think they replaced the lime/lemon juice with coke.

And then we started taking stupid photos like this.

We had a really long, heart-to-heart talk by the river. Something we haven’t done for ages ever since the nights back in room 309.

The times when we would just lie on our beds and talk about many things and our feelings. Sometimes sober, sometimes semi-conscious (so much so that i don’t even know if what we’re saying make sense), sometimes emo…we just exchanged a lot.

Remember that late night when we made our way back to the hostel, just the 2 of us walking on the lonely dark road ? Remember how we held hands and ran across the long eerie corridor, our fearful hearts pounding in our chests ? Remember how we found our way in Panyu with a big map, J’s phone and asking many ppl along the way ?

These are some of the things i’ll always remember. Becos we braved through them together. Becos we always looked out for each other. Becos we only want the best for each other.

And i want the best for you LR, i want you to always be happy. You’ll always be someone very special to me.

While i enjoyed all the eating and drinking, i haven’t forgotten about my healthy eating ‘diet’ ! So err to make myself feel a bit better i went for a swim on fri ! But we arrived abit too late so before i cld swim to my fill, we gotta get out of the pool. =(

Anyway i was thinking of investing in a new swimming costume and pair of googles if i make this a regular routine. But…we’ll see first. And recently i read that jogging only makes your thighs become bigger ?!?!?! Maybe swimming would prove to be more effective than gyming.

Then we spend the night chatting, choya-ing and watching movies. Actually started feeling sleepy at 2+am ! Looks like exercising does help with reverting my bio clock to back to normal. Was a nice, relaxing night.

Nua-ed over the lazy weekend. The last weekend before everything starts to get hectic. Got my eyebrows trimmed and gave in to a facial after some persuasion cos i needed it anyway. Haven’t done one in ages and i guess my face needed it badly.

It still hurt like hell (i still rmb my last one eons back) but at least my face’s much cleaner now. No more blackheads and clogged pores ! But it’s still kindda blotchy and red, hope it goes away tml. I don’t want to go to sch looking ugly on the first day.

Sales for textbooks is good ! I think i will feel abit richer when i exchanged my txtbks for money next week =D And then i might go and spend it somewhere else.

Anyway by the looks of it, i will most likely be having friday off this sem. Long weekend ! Something to feel happy about, heh.

for fear you’d be alone

Started off the year with a mask frenzy and a deep fried platter from manhattan. Doesn’t seem to go eh ?

And it’s all cozycot’s fault. But i am really stocking up on my masks now. They should be able to last me for 2 and a half months, if i mask religiously for twice a week. Do your maths. Let’s see what it will do for my complexion.

So girls, if you all need mask, i can lead you to the cheapest deals for the best masks LOLS.

Met up with H and F for lunch at The Central today. Manhattan is my choice. The giant fried platter is theirs. When i saw the platter being served, my immediate thought was why on earth did i agree to share in the first place. Guys. What’s with them and fried stuff ?

H was really nice cos he picked us up at bb and sent us back. I can easily see how pw got used to the comfort of private transport.

It’s been a long time since i last met H. And next sem will be the last we share together. It was fun meeting up with them. But i bet they had more fun laughing at me. -_-

Admittedly, i think i’m really frivolous when i’m put beside them. I just can’t seem to talk abt serious stuff. And when they do, i space out for a while. haha, this, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call selective attention.

Anyway, i saw this on somebody’s msn nick today.

for fear you’d be alone you do so many things that aren’t you at all.

And the truth in it struck a chord within me. Then, I turned it around and now it reads: for fear you’d be alone you don’t do things that are you. that is what you truely want.

Life’s too short for regrets. I will not let this fear hold me back this year, not anymore.

This post is a tad late but better late than never ! Mainly cos i wasn’t in the mood to blog. Oh yes, trust me you need to have The Mood to blog otherwise the blog entries comes out crappy. much like ranting.

Backtrack a lil to christmas eve, where we spent it in dardardar’s gym ! Hilarious night with vodka ribena raspberry 7-up, logcake, cupcakes, chocolate and cookies. and lots of lots of laughter of course. We had present exchange too, that is — among those who knew there is supposed to be one. Abit lazy to upload the many photos, so shall just post a few nice/funny ones. The rest are up on fb and i have tagged everybody.

We also had a game of charades which left everyone tickled. I particularly rmb one where dardardar was jumping ard and ej yelled ‘THAIPUSAM!!’ That was super hilarious, considering our theme for the game was CHRISTMAS. Then we proceed on to zhong ji mi ma to force ppl to finish the food. Heh. That’s what you do after parties to ‘clear up’ the food right.

But i think at the end of the day we still had fun. So that’s cheers to christmas !

One last ‘mirror’ pic before we call it a night ! If you look closely you’ll notice the treadmill and some exercise equipment in the background. What a Christmas haha. Luckily the security guard was nice enough to allow us to celeb in the gym, otherwise we wld be out in the drizzling rain. But this also mean that nobody got thrown/dragged/pushed into the pool this year. Hmmph. Nvm, there’s always next year

And guess who we ran into while waiting for the bus to the mrt station ? When J shouted ‘Merry christmas !’ we all got a shock…well it was, kind of awkward to say the least. Apparently he was there with his church friends and the whole group of us were preparing to go home after the celeb. But, wadever lar =P

Following that, siewmay was so seh she ended up cabbing home with huimin. Aahhh, need some training from me HAHA. But i guess the rest of us were fine. What’s christmas without alcohol right ?! And poor ej puked on the way back on the train. Err i guess zhong ji mi ma is not a great idea afterall, esp not when one is sick. Sorry ej ! Luckily he’s better after that.

And that was the happening christmas. I think there won’t be anymore alcohol next year. haha.

The day after christmas was supposed to be our shopping trip out, but we ended up pub-hopping for the later half. Lei did her fair of shopping while I being the stingy poor one didn’t buy anything at all ! Which is good, i guess.

Dinner was a near 3 hours affair. Lei brought me to try out this really famous japanese store, Wasabi Tei in far east. And guess how long we queued ? We waited and waited AND waited for 1 and a half hr !! Super hungry when we finally got on the precious seats.

Thumbs up for the chawamushi, as for the main i would say it’s not bad but err i don’t think i wld queue up that long for it again. I am v v picky when it comes to food, i guess most of my friends know that by now. But it was worth trying out ! Their appetiser is special and their watermelon served cold and sweet. They have fragrant green tea too. Just don’t go there on an empty stomach. You will FAINT in the queue before you reach the door.

Our original plan was to head to Timbre at the Art house, cos i haven’t been there before and wanted to check out the place. But the weather wasn’t looking good so we settled at The Santuary by Indochine along orchard road. The band was not bad, but wasn’t the kind of music and place we’re looking for.

The BEST thing then, was that i got my first taste of Erdinger. and fell in love with it. It is seriously the nicest beer i have drank to date. I don’t really know how to describe the taste of beer but this one stands out from the rest. It’s kind of light yet not diluted, not overly fizzy, doesn’t leave a bitter aftertaste in your mouth and glides down your throat smoothly!  Amazing. This is also the very first time i think i am starting to acquire the taste for beer haha.

And so we left shortly after the drink. and moved on to Timbre ! Now i really love the ambience of this place. Before you reach the place, you can already hear the band’s music drifting along the singapore river. Music by the river makes for such a perfect night. The dim orangy lighting gives off a warm cozy feeling and the lights hanging from the ceiling had a festive feel to them.

It’s an awesome place to chill out over drinks with friends, really. Big group, small group, it doesn’t make a difference. Nothing can go wrong with such good music, ambience and drinks. Didn’t get to try out their pizza though cos i was still full from dinner. But lei raved abt them so maybe next time ! she had Sangria which yours truly recommended and it was good that she liked it =D Seemed better than the one i had at Wala too.

Just when i was thinking this should be our last stop for the night, she suggested heading over to ChinaOne. Haha looks like somebody haven’t had enough yet, so we made a move again. No objections from me cos i was afterall, quite a nocturnal creature myself.

Things are always happening at ChinaOne for some reason. The last time we went there is this big guy who dances like he’s high on drugs and we can’t stop laughing at him. Lei even took to imitating his dance moves then, hilarious !

This time round, there was a near fight that almost broke out. Really drama. Machiam like shows on tv, people having to hold the angry guy who was waving his fist and looking like he’s gonna plummet the other guy to death. And the other guy acting like he don’t know what wrong. Then in came the BIG bouncer who got them to step out of the dancefloor to settle the issue. Now i finally understand why bouncers have to be that big and menacing.

And then people broke glass and it fell all over the place, i was near but luckily got no cuts from the shattered glass. And guys hitting on us as usual. But the one lei met is the ULTIMATE. This caucasian guy actually lifted her up and swing her ard for a bit ! I was like omg dunnoe whether to laugh or exclaim. Becos it really looked a little funny and silly haha. Though i’m sure lei is super shocked.

And surprise surprise ! I actually met wen, nayling and their friends at ChinaOne. What a coincidence huh, or should i say sg is really small haha. But they left earlier so didn’t get to witness any of the drama mentioned above.

Aahhh the funny things that happen at ChinaOne. I wonder what would happen next time. Anyway before getting on the cab, we saw this drunk guy lying on the ground beside the road, and he was yelling from time to time. It’s scary but we felt kindda sorry for him. Quite a poor thing, wonder where his friends are. We got on the cab since there was nothing much we can do/dare to help. And that concludes our night. More nights out !!

27th was spent at mh’s christmas chalet. And instead of playing ‘orientation-style’ games like she wanted us to, we hide in the room to play board games among ourselves haha.

Well, it would be the last time the 4 of us gather until the later half of 2009. With sh and mh going on exchange for both earlier half of the year, our clique will only be left with pw and me. And since pw wld be busy with work and bf, i guess, that’s me left haha. Hope the girls would enjoy their exchange tremendously, just like i did during HK summer sch.

Seems like many ppl wld be going away next sem, for exchange, for attachment, for internship(in sg)…just not having the usual mugging sem. Honestly, i am really envious of them. Esp since i have been through summer sch. Those unforgettable days.

Sigh, i’ll miss friends who are going away.

On top of that, i just recalled that next sem wld be the graduating sem for many friends too =( Soon, i won’t be able to see much familiar faces in sch anymore. But it’s inevitable lar i know, people will go their own way eventually and pursue what they want. And it is different for everybody.

When people say ’stay in contact’, do they really mean it or is it just a phase everybody says out of habit ? Say it like you mean it. Say it only if you mean it.

This is such a long post but i’m still going on. On a side note, i enjoyed the scrumptious homely dinner on 30th, it was good =D I love you all.

My reflection on 2008 is going to be short, and my resolution for 2009 will be simple.

It has been a rough year for me. For the first time in my life, i experienced the heart-wrenching pain of betrayal and loss. It wasn’t easy, waiting for half a year and being terribly upset for the later half. But i think it made me a stronger person. it made me realise things. it made me learn.

My grades haven’t been good this year, and as a matter of fact, they keep dipping. This will not do esp when i am going to embark on the honours track. Is it a lack of focus, a lack of hardwork ? Whatever it is, this must not go on.

The best thing about this year, is that i realise that are many people who still loves me. who still cares a lot about how i feel. who loves me for me. that’s the most impt thing. and that’s enough, really =)

The CUHK summer sch is also a great experience, a blessing in disguise. I’m really, really glad that i went for it. Those are truly unforgettable memories, perhaps the highlight of my uni days when i look back someday.

Come 2009, i only have a simple resolution. That is to be a happier person and make more people happy. Love more. Hate less.

Oh happy day !

What not to love about a day filled with sun, sea, sand, lotsa cycling, drinks by the pool and lovely company ? It was the nicest outdoor-sy outing i had with my fav girlies. (in such a long while too)

We were really adventurous while cycling though. almost ended up on the main road. But we did learnt that u only need an hour or less to cycle ard sentosa. becos it is that small. We went upslope (gotta get down and PUSH), downslope (Wheeeeeeeeee!), round and round for 2 hrs.

Sipping margaritas by the pool ! This is life. Aha. Hmm cafe del mar didn’t impress me much though, but i think it wld be a lot nicer at night. I’m not complaining though, cos the pool was a welcoming invite after all that cycling under the sun. Me like, heh.

Sometimes, it’s really the simplest things that makes me the happiest.

I love the feeling of the soft, almost powder-like sand between my toes. The waves washing against my feet. The feeling of wind in my hair while cycling. The exhilarating speed when we go downslope. The childish albeit fun water splashing at the pool. Laughing about old times. Just…spending a simple day out together, enjoying each other’s company.

I wish we can spend more time together like that.
